My Tuesday evening face to face Spanish classes are always the highlight of my week! The small class of seven other students is a great environment to learn a new language as I feel comfortable speaking to my classmates one on one and in front of the whole class. Jan is a fantastic teacher who uses his linguistics background to paint a complete picture of the Spanish language from the origins of words to the structure of the sounds. I am already keen to re-enrol for Term 2 to further build upon the basics and essentials covered in Term 1. ¡Muchas gracias Jan y Farolito!

For me it’s been great learning Spanish with Farolito. The teachers are so energetic and fun, and are very keen for you to learn. And my classes have always been small which is very helpful. I’ll sign up again soon when the borders to the Spanish-speaking world open!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first term at Farolito Spanish school. There’s a lot of class participation to practice speaking and listening with the teacher and other students, which is what I wanted out of the classes. Jan is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher, he always has tips and tricks on how to pronounce and remember words, they have been super helpful. I couldn’t be happier with the classes I have taken at Farolito. It’s accessible, informative and lots of fun. I love the way the culture of Spain and Latin America is a part of every class, it keeps me engaged and wanting to continue learning. I had Sarah for beginner 1 & 2 and I loved her passion and energy and now have Jan for beginner 3 who has taken things to the next level. Really loving the class. For anyone interested in learning Spanish I highly recommend this school.

Syon neel- Farolito is the best Spanish school in Melbourne by far. Every lesson shows an impressive amount of dedication and care on the teacher's part. The price is incredibly low and the quality of lessons is high. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to learn Spanish.

I'm so glad I chose Farolito to learn Spanish. Jan is a wonderful teacher. He's kind, patient, funny and won't laugh at you when you can't roll your 'R's. Mirvic is warm, welcoming and so helpful! Together they make the school a really lovely place to learn. If you want to learn Spanish, this is your place! Don't be afraid to try it, even if your starting from scratch (like me). You won't regret it.

I’m currently more than half way through Beginners 1 with Farolito, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the weekly sessions. Jan is a highly experienced and patient teacher, and our classes have provided a supportive environment for each of us to develop our understanding and use of the Spanish language. I am loving Farolito Spanish school. I have completed beginners 1, 2, and 3 and am signing up now for beg 4. It helps so much to practice my Spanish in front of other students and try to have conversations with them. It pushes me out of my comfort zone but that is essential for me to gain confidence. I’ve loved completing level 1 Spanish at Farolito. The classes are small and interactive. Jan is a great teacher, very knowledgeable in language and also we learn a lot about the difference of language in each Spanish speaking country. I’m looking forward to starting level 2 at Farolito.

The beginner classes with Jan have been great. Group size is small so it's quite personal. Jan is approachable and professional. Great school. The teachers are open to your needs and very responsive, helping you to get exactly what you're targeting with your Spanish. Class sizes are small and nobody gets left behind. There are also several options for study from intensives to weekly classes to private. Farolito fosters a friendly and fun Spanish speaking community.

Living rural having Farolito continue to provide online Spanish courses has been one of the few good changes that have come from the COVID-19 pandemic, and I'm so grateful to the team. I've had a number of different Spanish teachers over my many years of trying to learn Spanish and Jan is easily up there with the best. Having a background in linguistics his knowledge of languages is amazing but most of all he makes learning Spanish fun. I can't wait to continue my learning Spanish with Farolito.

Jan is am enthusiastic educator and his passion for teaching Spanish is evident. The classes are interesting, intellectually stimulating and most importantly we have a lot of fun.

The first term in the beginners class with Farolito was excellent. My learning of the language, being present in the classroom, is so much better than online learning. You get to learn alongside other people who are going through the same stuff that you are and can share your experiences immediately. And most importantly, you get an excellent structured approach and weekly homework that makes sure you study between the classes. Our Spanish born teacher brought an awesome amount of energy as well which made the learning engaging and fun. ¡Muy bien! Highly recommended.
