The first term in the beginners class with Farolito was excellent. My learning of the language, being present in the classroom, is so much better than online learning. You get to learn alongside other people who are going through the same stuff that you are and can share your experiences immediately. And most importantly, you get an excellent structured approach and weekly homework that makes sure you study between the classes. Our Spanish born teacher brought an awesome amount of energy as well which made the learning engaging and fun. ¡Muy bien! Highly recommended.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first term at Farolito Spanish school. There’s a lot of class participation to practice speaking and listening with the teacher and other students, which is what I wanted out of the classes. Jan is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher, he always has tips and tricks on how to pronounce and remember words, they have been super helpful. Ive been studying with Farolito for the past year and it has been wonderful, I love the flexibility of being able to learn with online classes and the teachers are so friendly and easy to communicate with, the groups are small and not intimidating and the teachers are so knowledgeable yet they make the learning fun and engaging. The beginner classes with Jan have been great. Group size is small so it's quite personal. Jan is approachable and professional. Syon neel- Farolito is the best Spanish school in Melbourne by far. Every lesson shows an impressive amount of dedication and care on the teacher's part. The price is incredibly low and the quality of lessons is high. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to learn Spanish.

Living rural having Farolito continue to provide online Spanish courses has been one of the few good changes that have come from the COVID-19 pandemic, and I'm so grateful to the team. I've had a number of different Spanish teachers over my many years of trying to learn Spanish and Jan is easily up there with the best. Having a background in linguistics his knowledge of languages is amazing but most of all he makes learning Spanish fun. I can't wait to continue my learning Spanish with Farolito.

Great school. The teachers are open to your needs and very responsive, helping you to get exactly what you're targeting with your Spanish. Class sizes are small and nobody gets left behind. There are also several options for study from intensives to weekly classes to private. Farolito fosters a friendly and fun Spanish speaking community.

My daughter, Skye, has been taking the Beginners 1 class this past term and has thoroughly enjoyed it. Jan is an excellent teacher and he has helped her feel welcome and comfortable as the youngest student in the class. We will be continuing!

Me and my 3 amigos signed up to get our Spanish up to scratch before a trip to south America. We managed to squeeze in three terms, which have been absolutely brilliant. Both Jan, the owner and Zoe, our teacher really cared about our development and were both really good teachers. We could not have asked for more! Would recommend to anyone and everyone interested in starting to learn this beautiful language 🙂

Starting to learn Spanish at Farolito has been a great experience. The classes are always engaging and interactive (regardless of whether they are online or in-person). Jan's knowledge of languages generally really stands out, and his approach to teaching beginners is first class.

I've been learning with Faralito now since January and I would highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn Spanish. I personally love the face to face classroom learning and the location is very convenient next to South Yarra station. I have completed an intensive 2 week Beginner 2 course and am now in Beginner 3. I will definitely move to the next course and keep learning with Faralito. I really like the small group class format and the teachers are very supportive and creative with their learning techniques as you move through the units in the Aula textbook. So far I've had lessons with Samuel and Hector. Sam is an outstanding teacher who loves grammar and is very skilled at explaining difficult grammar concepts. Hector is very attentive and has set up a WhatsApp group for the class to help with homework and he is responsive out of hours for assistance which is really very helpful. The real effort of course is required by me! As good as the teachers are they can't do it for me and l also have to find other ways to learn and more time to study but Faralito is a great foundation and motivation for me.

I'm very happy with my choice of school. Teachers are super friendly and you always feel welcome. I was a bit scared to start leaning because English is not my first language but it's actually very comfortable and cosy in classes, small groups, teacher has time for everyone. So if you doubt, don't. Studying goes with small steps, not too much homework. Always happy to come to class.

I have been with Farolito Spanish school for one term and I recommend this school for anyone trying to learn Spanish. The course is structured clearly and the text book they use is very helpful (across several levels). My groups teacher, Sara, is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable!
